Summary

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for managing profitable relationships with key Distributors and direct customers in heavy material handling industries. This role will require strong leadership, experience managing a team and technical sales skills.

Description

  • Manages Field Sales teams in the East and Midwest to meet revenue and profit goals
  • Leadership responsibilities for hiring, training, developing and motivating the team
  • Manages any channel crossover between Distributor and Direct Sales
  • Identifies, trains, and motivates Distributors and their direct sales force to sell products and services.
  • Initiates, prepares and coordinates the development of individual action plans with Distributors to increase market potential and penetrate new markets
  • Travels as required to develop and maintain pipeline of new and existing distributors and direct customers
  • Provides weekly sales report with focus on new customers, revenue, margins and profitability

Profile

VP of Sales profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree or relative industry experience in Industrial Material Handling
  • 10+ years sales management experience managing through distribution as well as direct sales staff
  • 5 years experience managing an industrial product line with full P&L responsibility
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a competitive desire and passion to succeed
  • Able to manage remote sales team and in office sales team.
  • Knowledgeable of working with Distributors ensuring all sales and marketing programs available at the Distributors are well understood and executed with the maximum ROI
