GHD is searching for a Sr. Physical Security Specialist/Project Manager to support multiple projects and clients. There are opportunities to work remotely enabling working from many locations across the U.S. with preference for either the Chantilly, VA or Baltimore MD offices where the majority of current projects are located.
The person selected to fill this role will need to have the ability to work independently as a self-motivated individual as well as part of a highly collaborative team in a dynamic environment. The person must be able to work in a high paced, quickly changing environment with the ability to multitask and adapt as necessary. Responsibilities:
Performing Risk Assessments and Physical Security Surveys.
Consulting on Physical Security including Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Antiterrorism / Force Protection (AT/FP), anti-ram mitigation, ballistic mitigation, forced entry mitigation, and electronic security systems. Electronic security systems consist of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Intrusion detection systems (IDS), Video Assessment and Surveillance Systems (VASS), Intercommunications systems, as well as supporting infrastructure such as networking, cabling infrastructure, power, and cooling.
Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior staff and clients.
Manage projects related to consulting and design of physical protective systems including consulting/planning, design, as well as overseeing construction and commissioning / acceptance testing. This includes managing schedules and budgets.
Assist in business development efforts including developing proposals for consulting and design work.
Work with and/or directing relevant disciplines and/or sub-contractors in the planning, design and implementation of these systems Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
12+ years of relevant recent experience
PSP certification completed or in progress
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in the design and planning of access control and video systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) and Microsoft Project
Knowledge of or familiarity with various security regulations/requirements/standards including ASIS, ISC, and DoD / UFC.
Knowledge of low voltage systems (structured cabling design (copper/fiber), basic IP networking, electrified door hardware)
Knowledge of basic construction, electrical, building, and fire codes
Competent in reading and understanding construction drawings/specifications and knowledgeable in standard construction industry practice Preferred Qualification
CPP Certification completed or in progress
DoD Antiterrorism Officer Level 2 certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Electronic security system manufacturer's certification(s) a plus
