UMB's success is directly impacted by the growth of our Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio. The team consists of Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, and Relationship Managers. This team manages Commercial Real Estate throughout its life - developing meaningful connections with management of the companies they serve. The vast majority of Commercial Real Estate loans include construction and refinancing of multi-family, office and industrial projects. Always mindful of the changes in the Commercial Real Estate industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs. The team takes great pride in seeing a Commercial Real Estate loan project through it's initial planning stage to completion.
The Relationship Manager II performs as the sales liaison to new Commercial Real Estate loan customers and deals. Always aware of market data and trends in Commercial Real Estate, you will source new deals in a variety of commercial verticals, but mainly multi-family, office and industrial. You will engage in construction loans, interim loans, permanent loans, and refinancing of real estate loans. To better understand the client needs, historical cash flow data related to the performance, and Real Estate market and industry data to qualify the loan requests. As loan opportunities are sourced, you will underwrite the collateral property, market and guarantor; structure the loan; prepare the loan approval package; present the loan request to loan committee; and negotiate and document the loan to close new business. A big part in booking new deals is the amount of oversight you will have responsibility, reviewing monthly construction requests to ensure construction remains on budget and on schedule; in conjunction with an assigned Portfolio Manager, monitor collateral property performance to ensure loan performance. You have the ability to help clients achieve their financial dreams, stream line business processes and help them better understand their working cash flow needs.

- You will spend a considerable amount of time prospecting for new business, attending industry events, networking and evaluating opportunities to increase the real estate loan portfolio.
- You will work in conjunction with your assigned Portfolio Manager, performing regular reviews of the property and guarantor financial conditions to ensure the highest credit quality as well as the continued appropriateness of the risk ratings you've assigned.
- If you have a Bachelor's degree or 7 or more years of Commercial Real Estate lending and underwriting experience.
- If you have a proven track record of success lending in the Commercial Real Estate industry.
- If you have direct market knowledge of Commercial Real Estate in the market you are applying.
