The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO's Human Resources department invites applications for a full-time Receptionist/Administrative Clerk.
As a Receptionist/Administrative Clerk, you will report to the Director, Human Resources. Under minimal supervision, the Receptionist/Administrative Clerk will provide general clerical and administrative support to the NYISO organization as assigned, including but not limited to tasks such as: typing, mail distribution, visitor reception, answering telephones, copying/faxing, and correspondence. This individual will primarily be assigned to Visitor Reception.
The Receptionist/Administrative Clerk will also assist in the coordination of special projects, such as internal employee events, as well as assist with clerical support for the Human Resources department. The Receptionist/Administrative Clerk must have good interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of management, internal/external customers and to assist coworkers. The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is essential due to the sensitive nature of the data.
This is a bargaining unit position.Job Requirements:
- High School diploma required, and a minimum of 5 years of successful secretarial and/or administrative support work experience is desired. Certificate in secretarial science, computer applications or business applications or equivalent is preferred.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills are required to identify errors and correct them.
- Certain deadlines may require work on weekends, nights or an occasional holiday.
