Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Mineral Processing Engineer-in-Training for our Saskatoon Office.

This position is the ideal opportunity to start and develop your career in Mineral Process Engineering. You'll be working alongside a multi-discipline team with expertise in Mining & Minerals.

  • Provide Process Engineering design support to multidiscipline teams on brownfield, greenfield, de-bottle necking, construction and expansion projects
  • Participate in the development of process design criteria, process flow diagrams and mass balances, equipment lists, line lists and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Design, technical selection, and sizing of process equipment
  • evaluate vendor quotations for technical adequacy, budget constraints and client requirements
  • Preparing and checking documents, calculations and client requirements
  • Provide on-site inspection, commissioning and ramp up support
  • Participating in process plant HAZID and HAZOP reviews
  • Participating in design reviews (model reviews, ergonomics, maintainability)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering (with a Mineral Processing Specialty)
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of project staff and management
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at time of application
  • Work in mineral processing experience during studies will be considered an asset
