SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Pre-Owned Electronics Business Planning Analyst is responsible for providing support to a designated business unit(s), working directly with that team to ensure their data and analytical needs are met. The principal business outcome of this position is to provide tactical insights and reporting for one or more of GameStop's divisions, including the Mobile and Gaming groups, as well as identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability. An associate in this position may interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either, but will often gather requirements from customers and lead analysis independently. In addition to technical and analytical expertise, this associate possesses strong communication and planning skills and will demonstrate superior customer service to the assigned departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Review financial results and key sales metrics of products within GameStop's Mobile and Gaming divisions, and ensure that field and office management is provided with reporting and analysis to measure performance and identify opportunities
  • Provide detailed analysis and identify outcomes by employing sound analytical and statistical concepts
  • Deliver reporting and analytical support for re-commerce and refurbishment departments as needed
  • Provide appropriate constructive guidance regarding pricing, inventory, and profitability of Mobile products and categories
  • Produce inclusive financial models for potential products and initiatives, using appropriate assumptions and analyses
  • Work closely with the Mobile and Gaming divisions to maintain a thorough understanding of current and future product lines
  • Improve business awareness of Mobile and Gaming initiatives and results by reporting results as required to field and office management
  • Identify key performance indicators for Mobile and Gaming product categories and ensure that definitions and calculations of these metrics are accurate and consistent across the organization
  • Collaborate within the Pre-Owned Electronics team, assisting with other projects as needed

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited program required, MBA a preferred
  • At least one-year experience within merchandising, analytical or finance function
  • Intermediate knowledge of business concepts and tools (financial statements, break-even, cost benchmarking, pricing, sensitivity analysis, NPV, ROI, etc.)
  • Intermediate Excel, Access, and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, and Python.
  • Basic knowledge of data management and database structures. Statistical modeling skills a plus
