We actively seek a Legal Operations Manager, Corporate. This is a remote postion and can be based anywhere is the US.

Position Summary

Rimini Street is growing rapidly globally, with double-digit annual growth in new business and revenue. The LO Corporate Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the non-law corporate and litigation practices of the Legal Department in coordination with and under the direction of the Chief of Staff, VP Legal Operations. This includes working closely with the Corporate, Compliance, and Litigation practices to develop best practices and process improvements, as well as driving adoption in these efforts; defining metrics and develop dashboards & reports to highlight corporate practices performance; leading intra-department and inter-department initiatives and activities; and project manage initiatives involving these practices.

The role will report directly to the Chief of Staff/VP Legal Operations of Rimini Street. The LO Corporate Manager will be a key member of our Legal Department management team . The role will require periodic travel as necessary across the world.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Partner to the Corporate, Ethics & Compliance, and Litigation practices
    • Work closely with the corporate and litigation practices to understand processes and priorities
    • Thought partner to heads of the practices for ensuring they run effectively and efficiently
    • Drive adoption and usage of new/changed processes and technologies
    • Work closely with the Legal Department Leadership Team to support their management of key law firm and vendor relationships
    • Work with the Legal Department Leadership Team to determine future Legal Operations team hires, develop job requirements and lead the hiring process
  • Manage the outside counsel billing, accrual, and budget processes
    • Point of contact for all eBilling activities (setup, issues, approvals, AI updates)
    • Ensure accruals are timely and accurate
    • Liaison to outside counsel and Accounting for billing, accrual, and budget activities
    • Provide monthly budget analysis for practices
    • Monitor usage and implement continuous improvements
  • Manage HR activities for the Legal Department
    • Proactively manage important milestones for the Legal Department, such as compensation reviews
    • Work closely with HR liaison to prioritize the Legal Department's HR and recruiting activities
    • Maintain the intranet site, distribution lists and other solutions to ensure they are updated to accurately represent the Legal Department
    • Responsible for onboarding of new Legal members
    • Organize Legal team events (e.g., team building, conferences)
    • Develop content for and generate the Legal Quarterly newsletter
  • Back up to Manager, Legal Operations Revenue
    • Provide back up support to the Manager, Legal Operations Reenue
    • Collaborate to establish consistent practices and share best practices
  • Provide such other support and activities as requested by the Chief of Staff/VP Legal Operations
    • Complete ad-hoc and special projects as requested/required by the Legal Department Leadership Team
    • Develop presentations and documentation as needed, to support departmental discussions and decisions
    • Source, evaluate, test, train, implement and support technology solutions throughout the Legal Department
Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Masters or JD desirable
Location

Experience
  • 10+ years of experience working in a legal environment.
  • 5+ years of experience managing outside counsel activities and spend.
  • Experience with Adobe, DocuSign, and other legal management tools.
  • Expertise with Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Experience organizing and managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to build, re-design and implement long-term, scalable legal operational programs and processes.
  • Robust experience in implementing and using legal technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills presenting data in a creative, thoughtful, and effective manner to drive better decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams to execute projects and corporate initiatives and meet broad business goals.

  • Able to work remotely when not physically present at Company Operations Center.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, as described above and as modified by the Chief of Staff/VP Legal Operations from time to time based on the needs of the company.
