We are seeking an HR Business Partner for our home office location in Westmont to support our clients' HR needs.

Human Resources Business Partner Job Description:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management for Employco's most valuable clients. The HRBP serves as an advisor to the clients' management teams by assessing and anticipating HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with Employco's internal staff, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across Employco's and the clients' organizations to deliver value-added service. The HRBP maintains an effective level of knowledge about each client's business, its plans, and its culture.

Job Requirements:

Human Resources Business Partner Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts frequent meetings with respective clients
  • Consults with clients' management and provides HR guidance
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Employco's HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Consults with Employco management on complex or potentially litigious situations and decisions
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Delivers employee training programs (e.g., harassment, diversity, workplace violence, communication)
  • Participates in employee termination discussions. Coaches the manager in preparations for such discussions. Participation in termination meetings, as needed
  • Works closely with clients' management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Develops programs for new hires, promotions and transfers
  • Provides guidance and input on organization restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Oversees clients' employee benefit plans including acting as liaison to client management, facilitating annual open enrollment and employee communication, and answering employee questions
  • Provides escalated issue support for HR Generalists

Human Resources Business Partner Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to clients' locations, mostly Chicago area driving
