Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Faculty Group Practice Clinical Manager - (142690).

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the oversight of over clinical and ancillary staff across multiple OB/GYN clinical practice locations, and is directly engaged with day-to-day patient care activities. Collaborates with physician and administrative leadership to continuously improve patient experience. Develops and implements clinical workflow refinements based on best practices. Ensures practice compliance with all NYULMC, Joint Commission and DOH regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with physician leadership to ensure proper patient care protocols are being followed by all staff. Update protocols as clinically indicated.
    • Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable.
    • Evaluate treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modifies per clinical standards and practice protocols.
    • Work collaboratively with the attending physician, consulting physician(s), and other disciplines to identify, develop, and implement an appropriate plan of care that maximizes individual patient/family preference and enhances quality, access, and cost-effective outcomes.
    • Maintain current expertise in area of practice.
    • Formulate the plan of care, along with the attending physician, patient and family, based on expected goals of care and length of stay
    • Facilitate the continuity of care across the continuum of services, e.g. home care, other facilities, appointments with MD s etc.
    • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team including the attending physician to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for a group of patients and ensure communication with family members.
    • Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs and to ensure appropriate clinical resource utilization per protocols, pathways, and other means.
    • Order customary laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies per practice protocols, differentiates between normal/abnormal findings and follows protocols for abnormal findings, which may include referral to consulting physicians per customary pattern of the attending MD or with the collaborating physician.
    • Leading by example, provide patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Carries out physician orders including, but not limited to, assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, calling in prescriptions, coordinating patients medical services (identifying pre-certification needs) and assisting with other day-to-day clinical operations of the department.
    • Support the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution, department and service line.
    • Ensure proper documentation of all treatments, nursing assessments and patient reactions.
    • Review patient charts including physical exams, lab reports, scans and reports for relevant information and quality assurance.
    • Oversee all clinical Epic in-basket messages to ensure that issues are being addressed and patient care is being coordinated in a timely fashion. Use evidence-based health care literature to advise and to support appropriate practice changes within the designated service.
    • Participate in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established practice protocols for purposes of quality and performance improvement.
    • Serve as liaison with referring physician practices to ensure appropriate and seamless patient care.
    • Routinely perform environmental rounds including but not limited to sterilization processes.
    • Ensure practice-based Operating Rooms meet institutional OR standards, such as AAAASF
    • Review all policies and protocols to maintain quality control and patient safety. Provide instruction in various protocols, necessary procedures and possible complications.
    • Conduct and participate in quality, safety, and leadership meetings with physicians and staff as appropriate.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance for staff development.
    • Organize and conduct routine meetings with the clinical and ancillary staff to review protocols and provide updates.
    • Develop and regularly update training curricula for clinical and ancillary staff, including nurses, medical assistants, ultrasound technicians, and advanced practice providers.
    • Hire, train, and supervise all clinical and ancillary staff to provide quality patient care. Ensure performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion, and administer performance improvement plans as needed. Evaluate staff competency according to policy.
    • Work with administrative management on optimizing workflows and staffing models to continually improve clinical operations across OB/GYN practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Registered Professional Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in New York; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, 5+ years of clinical practice in OB/GYN; Progressive leadership; demonstrated in a leadership position or the potential for leadership competency; ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture and coach others; ability to develop and apply patient care processes toward achievement of specific outcomes and for patient/family satisfaction; participation in service or departmental committees; evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and creative problem solving; proficient in Epic and with strong computer skills ; membership in pertinent professional organizations..

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS, Nurse Practitioner-NYS
