Job Description

The Director, Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality is a leadership role on MDM team, enforcing enterprise data standards and governance. This position is responsible for the end-to-end MDM business processes for Master Data domain and assisting the Business Data Owner by handling the overall day-to-day management and tactical aspects of Master Data Management utilizing industry best practices and their deep understanding of the Master Data domain. Their overall responsibility is to ensure that the organization has trusted and business-ready Master Data that is valid, accurate, and complete to support effective business processes and business decisions.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the creation and development of the MDM and Data Quality function.

  • Build and lead a team of Master Data professionals

  • Create and maintain the Master Data definitions, standards, and policies

  • Create and maintain the standard business process around the creation and maintenance of Master Data

  • Establish and manage the data governance processes as applicable to the Master Data domains including policies, procedures, SOPs, data dictionary, business glossary, data standards including allowed values etc.

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on Master Data projects and manage the Master Data scope on IT projects

  • Lead MDM workshops to engage key data stakeholders and gather a common understanding of Master Data domain across LKQ

  • Design, innovate, and deliver efficient Master Data solutions in partnership with the impacted business units/functions and IT

  • Connect MDM with strategic initiatives and participates with global data and analytics strategy teams.

  • Help implement solutions for all impacted processes and applications in relevant business units

  • Responsible for issue resolution and root cause analysis for Master Data across all functional processes and IT systems

  • Work closely with the functional ERP Process Owners to ensure high-quality Master Data is available for consumption by business processes

  • Identify opportunities/priorities to cleanse and harmonize Master Data within ERPs and across LKQ's data domains

  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Management, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related fields

  • 7+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data quality management or data management

  • Experience on an ERP implementation or business transformation program

  • Experience with Oracle EBS, Prelude, or other auto industry-specific ERPs

  • Experience in developing and documenting business requirements

  • Master's Degree in relevant field

  • Knowledge of Master Data governance and data management principles and concepts.

  • Well-versed in data governance best practices.


  • Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement a Corporate MDM solution.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skillsets.

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
