We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director Infection Prevention & Control.
This position reports to the Senior Director, IPC NYUH System with responsibility for oversight of NYU Brooklyn based IPC practitioners, compliance with regulatory mandates and IPC policy in NYU Brooklyn hospital locations and undertaking additional projects as needed.
Supervises and Manages Infection Preventionists assigned to NYU Brooklyn hospital locations. Primary responsibility for IPC rounds, surveillance, compliance with regulatory requirement and IPC policy in the NYU Brooklyn hospital locations.
Primary IPC liaison with NYU Brooklyn based Nursing, Administrative and other NYU leadership responsible for patient safety and quality
Supports the development of NYU Brooklyn based Infection Preventionists through training, mentorship and an established, progressive competency model. Performs routine and as needed assessment of Infection Preventionists competency.
Supports the development and enforcement of policies and procedures relating to infection control measures at NYU Brooklyn hospital locations
Supports the development and implementation of IPC planning for special pathogens, pandemic respiratory virus and bioterrorism at NYU Brooklyn hospital locations.
Assists the Senior Director with coordinating the infection prevention and control program at NYU Brooklyn hospital locations.
Oversee, organize, and implement special projects to support the infection prevention and control program
Performs other duties as assigned.
To qualify you must have a Registered Nurse License in NYS required.
Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing or Microbiology or equivalent field required. Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) required.
Must have a minimum 7 years clinical experience in a healthcare setting or disease surveillance experience in a public health setting.
Computer skills, research and basic statistical skill is preferred..
Master's Degree Nursing, PublicHealth Administration, or related field. 3- 5 years Progressive management.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
